We don't have a set schedule but here is our routine. We get started with our family items once everyone is awake (generally around 7...those that wake early play quietly in their rooms, quietly start on their individual work OR they end up doing chores if they are not quiet)!
Morning PowerPoint (calendar, weather, skip counting, etc.)
Breakfast
PE (it is HOT here most of the year so PE is done as early as possible)
Chores
Religion
Workboxes
Lunch
Finish Workboxes (if necessary)
Quiet Time
Play Time
Baths
Dinner
TV Time
Bed Time (Monkey@6:15, Ladybug@6:45, Unicorn@7:30...Yes their times are early but they wake up between 6-7 every morning no matter what time they go to bed)!
Thanks for a great blog! I'll be back, and I look forward to getting to know you better at THL.

Thanks Bookgirl!
ReplyDeleteMy kids go to bed and rise early to =)
ReplyDeleteWe do P.E. early in the day as well. Not only because it is hot but I think it helps my kids be better focused by running off most of their energy early in the day.

My kids are the same way! Up by 6 no matter what, so they are in bed at 7 :)
ReplyDeleteWe are night owls here ;) I also have a routine, instead of timed schedule. Have a great year! http://www.thekelleyeight.com/2011/08/day-in-our-life.html
ReplyDeleteWell, hello fellow crew mate! Stopping by and now following you from Not-Back-to-School Blog Hop. Great post! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great day!! I wish somedays my kids would go to bed that early. If they did though they would be up and down for hours. :) Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the Not Back to School hop. LOved reading about your routine. NO way I could have my kids in bed so early. Wouldn't work with our routine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :) We are going to be incorporating earlier bed times here, especially when it gets closer to winter.
ReplyDeletewe have an early PE time for the fact it is so hot right now. I have had them do yoga sometimes in the AM if it is too hot by 10am! I really have seen that help them focus. I am debating on adding that in as a mandatory before school start type thing. Ex: Take care of dogs, brush teeth, take vitamins, eat breakfast, do yoga ... THEN do school!
ReplyDeleteHi Heather! I like the idea of doing Yoga before school. I'm going to have to look into it!
ReplyDeleteIt's probably a good idea to get PE out of the way early if it's hot where you live!
ReplyDeleteHi Sharla! It was 115 today and didn't get below 100 overnight! It is HOT! Take care and thanks for stopping by!
