Electric Bill
Now I am sure you are wondering why I am grateful for a BILL but I am...for the past 6 months our electric bill has been huge ($400-$600). It was our first summer in a new house so we had no idea how inefficient our air conditioner was. We live in Arizona where summers can get hot (like 120 degrees hot) and a/c is a must. So we have been taking measures to lower our bill but the break in the weather is really the only thing that allows us to turn off our a/c. So getting an electric bill around $150 today is something to be grateful for! Now I am off to pay bills and save the extra for a new, more efficient air conditioner!

Yikes...those are crazy electricity bills! Glad it's come down some. There have been times when my husband screened the bill ahead of time, just to prepare me a bit. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is funny Christy, I have to prepare my husband for the bills! ;)
DeleteI live in SC and we have both extremes here as well. The highest ours ever was was $400 a few summers ago when the prices of fuel were astronomical and I totally freaked. When we replaced both our units it has been significantly better. The highest was this summer at about $225. I am definitely grateful when the bill is under 200.
ReplyDeleteI would be in heaven if our highest bill during the summer was $225! We have been in houses here where, even in the heat of the summer, the highest bill was $300 so a bill of almost $600 in this little house (just over 2000 sq ft) we about died!
