Field Trip ~ Desert Botanical Gardens

Yesterday we took advantage of the Smithsonian Free Museum Day. While it was very hot (100 degrees) for late-September and we only stayed a couple of hours, it was a fun experience. I think next time we will go in the Spring when more flowers will be in bloom (and hopefully it will be cooler too)!

Here are some of the pictures I took:

This is probably the best picture I have ever taken (not including ones of my kids)!

Look closely and you can see a hummingbird.

Unicorn, Monkey and Ladybug

I love how this cactus looks like a snake.

Do you see the lizard?

Can you see the Cactus Wren?

Week in Review ~ Week 7 (continued)

Ok...so after I finish my already long Week in Review ~ Week 7 post, Unicorn reads this blog (and you should really check it out) over my shoulder and decides she is not done for the day!

Here is what else she did:

Using Hieroglyphics from A to Z, Unicorn traced the symbols for her name on tissue paper.

Here are some of the letters in her name (I messed with the photo to make it look old).

She also did her and her siblings "blog names"

She also made a Bioglyph for her sister.

and one for her brother.

Here is the Legend:
